"Morning Fog on Lake Shasta" by Yevonne Reynolds

24" x 18" colored pencil

Every year a group of ladies get together and rent a house boat on Lake Shasta, CA. We have been doing that for about 10 years now. I always take a lot of photos so when I get home, I have references to create the wonderful landscapes of that area.

"Cacique" by Sara Starr

6" x 8" high-fire tile

"Cacique" is a high-fire tile that I brought to La Penita, Mexico, as a gift to the gallery owner who hosted our plein aire oil painting workshop. Caciques are related to orioles and grackles, and several of them reside in the garden next to the house we rented for our trip. A fabulous bird! I hope to post some results from my workshop soon!

"Alibi" by Sara Starr

22" x 28" watercolor

"Alibi" depicts some of Arcata's beloved landmarks---wonderful old neon bar signs on the north side of the Plaza. This painting won Honorable Mention in the Winter 2010 Humboldt Arts Council Juried show at the Morris Graves Art Museum.

"Sox" by Sara Starr

watercolor

My friends Barbara, Clayton, and their kitty Sox are moving to New Orleans to start a new adventure. I painted Sox as a going-away gift. When we were between homes two years ago, my husband and I stayed with them for a week where I became well-acquainted with Sox, as he slept with us every night!
